Session 6 Week 6 Year 5
We wrapped up session six with a great exhibition from the Elementary Studio! The learners had a blast during the detective science quest and are looking forward to exploring their passions in session seven!
Exhibition
The ES heroes put on an engaging Detective Science exhibition that had the parents in the middle of a crime scene! The learners set up a fake crime, with evidence, and suspects, and then gave their parents time to use the forensics skills they learned during quest to solve the mystery. There were shoe prints, fingerprints, dental impressions, hair samples, and handwriting analysis to sort through. In the end, Mrs. Molley was the only one to correctly solve the crime!
Art
This week in art, the learners were able to draw whatever they wanted and paint it with water color paint! It was so interesting seeing all of their styles and personalities come out in unique masterpieces!!
Cooking
Mrs. Molley led the heroes in cooking New Zealand cheese rolls this week! In New Zealand they have several different savory varieties, but our learners kept it simple with bread, butter, and cheese. They flattened their bread with a rolling pin, sprinkled on the cheese, rolled it up, and then basted it with butter. Then, they placed the roll on a griddle, and waited for the sides to lightly brown, and the cheese to melt. This snack was a hit with the heroes and they kept coming back for more!!!
