Session 5 Week 6 Year 5

We wrapped up our Edison’s Lab electricity quest this week and will move onto our Detective Science quest in session 6. The heroes have had a lot of fun working with snap circuits and learning to wire things from scratch.

Quest

The ES heroes prepped all week for their exhibition on Friday. They practiced wiring a light bulb to light up, making a buzzer sound, and getting a fan to work under a time crunch. They plan to demonstrate these skills at the big public exhibition and awards ceremony on February 27th!

Art

This week we made Valentine’s art! The learners were able to draw whatever they could imagine on a canvas and then painted the canvas using red, pink, and white!

ES Comms

During Comms, the ES heroes got to participate in a fun activity where they got to role play difficult conversations using the recipe they learned. The learners each took turns acting out scenarios that happen in the studio and practiced how they could successfully address them in the future. After each pair finished their scene, the group provided feedback on how the recipe was utilized. The heroes took this feedback and applied it to their next scenario.

Guest Hero Visit

Thank you to Mr. Molley for coming to talk to our heroes about your journey as an electrical engineer! Our learners were listening intently and had so many questions!

Valentine’s Tea

Thank you to Mrs. Molley for hosting a fabulous Valentine’s tea for our heroes! The learners were able to try a chamomile and mint tea, and fix it how they like. They had the option of adding lemon, sugar cubes, or honey. We also enjoyed a nice snack of fruit and pastries!
