Year 4, Session 2, Week 5
Session 2 came to an end and it was a busy week! The ES had a mini exhibition and the Children’s Business Fair. We had another entrepreneur visit, but this time the Little Heroes got to sit in on the interview as well!
Writer’s Workshop
ES published their four memoirs and received their writer’s workshop badges! They wrote about a time when nothing happened, a time in a special place, a favorite day they remember, and a time they ate something weird. They also learned about holding conversations with someone new and practiced their new skills through a bingo game. Additionally, they discussed what makes a quality birthday note and practiced by making surprise birthday cards for Mrs. Gigi!
Quest
The Elementary Studio wrapped up their E-Ship quest and ended the week with a mini exhibition. They practiced giving their sales pitch to all of the Little Heroes and several staff members. We also had a visit from Mr. Tyler Williams, owner of the “Own Your Style” clothing line. He allowed our learners to interview him about his entrepreneurship experience. The true demonstration of their learning was at the Children’s Business Fair on Saturday. Each hero had a successful business, and Kain and Charlie won prizes!
PE
During PE, both ES and the Little Heroes played duck, duck, goose and red light/green light. They love having this time together to play as a big group!
Art
In art, the learners got to make their own magic potion bottles! They created ingredients out of paper, colored them, cut them out, and put them in a laminated bottle with glitter. The bottles are hanging on display in our studio!
Little Heroes Studio
The Little Heroes studio got a new learner this week! Isabelle completed her trial week and is officially part of the tribe! Welcome Isabelle!! The Little Heroes baked pumpkin cake this week for their weekly baking project. After their morning Montessori work, and core skills on their computers, they enjoyed time playing outside.
