Year 3, Session 2, Week 4
Session 2 has concluded and it's show time again! This Exhibition Eagles will review various aspects of their Architect's Quest and their latest Writer's Workshop. With this "Gallery Walk" experience Eagle parents will have a up close and personal view of their Eagle's work this session. Our Middle Schoolers are exploring big questions in Civilization! Civilization as we know it is but a small point on the timeline of Big History moments. The origin of history begins with the forces of nature that have allowed modern society to flourish. To understand nature and history, we must be able to determine truth.
Which of the Big History ‘claims testers’ is most important in determining truth:
Evidence (can be verified). If you or another person looked at the same evidence, would you arrive at the same findings?
Does the modern view of the origin of the universe contradict the origin stories of faith, or is science different (what happened, literally) from philosophical belief (why it matters to humans)?
Some believe in Scientism, that science eventually will answer all the questions that are important to humans. Others say science is about “What is” and that we need religion, myths, and narrative to inform us about the moral side of humanity, or what “ought to be.”
Will science one day answer all the important questions or not?
All life has: metabolism (ability to convert energy), homeostasis (ability to internally balance energy), reproduction (ability to produce new organisms), adaptation (ability to change over time).

We think it is safe to say our Little Eagles have big green thumbs! As a studio the Little Eagles have taken great pride in watering and tending to the garden. Day after day they take turns retrieving the watering tin to ensure the little sprouts are hydrated. Awesome job Eagles, we appreciate all your hard work.
Before Session 2 concluded Mr. Molley issued a challenge to the older Eagles! The challenge was to maintain silent CORE skills for 2 days. Upon successful completion the Eagles would receive a special surprise for "Fun Friday". Because the Eagles fell short Mr. Molley re-issued the challenge for the first week of Session 3. Will the Eagles get to go to Kid Cove Discovery Park??
