Session 7 Weeks 2 & 3 Year 5

Our Growing Curiosity quest is off to a great start! The ES heroes are having so much fun learning new skills and being creative. We can’t wait to see what they do next!

Quest

Some of our ES heroes are taking turns leading mini quests of their choice for Growing Curiosity! During their time as leader, they get to be the guide - leading launches they wrote and facilitating activities they planned. Our first quest leader was Eden! She led a tie dye quest where the heroes dyed a bag, pillowcase, and t-shirt using various techniques. Our second quest leader was Adley! She led a quest on making slime and taught the ES learners how to make 3 different kinds.

Art

Last week in art the learners got to go outside and sketch a scene of their choice! They used colored pencils to add details and bring their masterpieces to life. This week in art, our heroes learned about the history of Faberge eggs and then designed their own on a canvas! They drew their egg first and then painted it with watercolors.

ES Comms

The ES learners began writing creative fiction stories this week. They are using the website storybird to make picture books. Throughout the writing process they will dive deeper into different story elements such as setting, characters, and plot.

Fun Thursday

Due to it being a short week before spring break our heroes celebrated Fun Thursday instead of Fun Friday! They mixed it up this week by splitting up into their own studios and watching different movies. The Little Heroes picked Mufasa and the ES heroes picked Matilda!
