Year 3 Session 5 Week 6 - Session 6 Week 1
Edited by: Kristina Magee
Last Week concludes Session 5 and all the wonders of the deep. It certainly was not the end of our Eagles doing independent deep dives; and exploring answers to their favorite questions. Several Eagles were in and out of the studio with the flu and stomach bugs. With weather changes and seasonal allergies it is important that we keep our immune systems top notch. Some ways to get an immune system boost include washing hands regularly, getting vitamins and proper rest, and exercising. Last week's Exhibition was a first of its kind as the ES and MS Eagles split up. Exhibition for Session 5 went off without a hitch and this week Session 6 began! What an excellent end to the week as we roll into Mardi Gras Break! There will be no school Monday Tuesday or Wednesday, so Laissez Les Bon Temps Rouler!
Our Little Eagles welcomed a new Eagle into the studio last week and they have been having a blast! Sometimes it can be difficult adjusting to all the cool and unique systems Eagles use daily. Guides assign Eagle buddies to help incoming Little Eagles have a smooth transition. This week Little Eagles got introduced to Coding and now have a points board. They started the week on a sugar rush from all those sweet Valentines treats. P.E. has been a blast as the Little Eagles have been joining in with the older Eagles.
MS Eagles and ES Eagles both had something to prove as they spread their wings this past Exhibition. The evening got off to a quiet start but ended on high marks and raving reviews. After wrapping up Exhibition Eagles were eager to discover what the new Session and Quest would bring. Session 6 MS Eagles are picking up where they left off in the Friendship quest and will join in on the Robotics quest once finished. With many of the learning modules being gamified the ES Eagles have been coding like crazy! While launches on algorithms may be thought of as "cringe" and "kind of boring" the hands-on learning captivates their attention daily. To much delight all Eagles were thrilled realizing how much fun it is coding. Writer's Workshop is taking on a new twist with the Eagles diving into Technical writing. What other interesting things are the Eagles get into this Session?

Our Little Eagles have joined forces with ES Eagles using their free time to earn points! Ask your Eagle how they are using their free-time in the studio! Two of our ES Eagles are one grade ahead in Vocab Class. One of our ES Eagles is two grades ahead in their grammar workbook. Give them 2 claps and a woosh. Is your Eagle attempting any stretch goals this Session?
ES Eagles had lots of fun hosting their first solo Exhibition! They discussed World Oceans, Animals of the Deep, and read from their Science based fiction stories. To display they knowledge they retained from Quest Eagles played Marine Science Jeopardy and it was quite a battle for first place!
MS Eagles were right at home being separate from the ES Eagles and they put on quite a show during Exhibition. After reading their vivid fiction stories and displaying their elaborate illustrations the competition began! MS Eagles present the things they learned throughout the Marine Science quest; then chose to test their parents in a game of Jeopardy! They wanted to see how much they paid attention in Exhibition and how much they retained from their schooling days! ;)
