Our 1st Year, Session 5, Week 3
Our Eagles have been working on building shelters in preparation for the exhibition camping trip to test their skills! They have studied the history of shelters as well as lots of experimentation with building their own!
It took them a lot of trial and error, but they managed to successfully setup their tents in preparation for the upcoming survival exhibition challenge!
PE this week has mostly been about setting fitness goals and achieving them - but that doesn't stop us from having Yoga fun with fitness balls!
Everyday eagles ask themselves if the goals they are setting are in their comfort zone, challenge zone, or panic zone. They encourage each other, discuss, and reflect on their choices made on their own unique hero's journey.
Why do empires rise and fall? What decisions would you make if you were put in Julius Caesar's shoes? Who was more selfish Caesar or the Senate? Is it ever ethical for leaders of modern nations to be assassinated, or should they always be allowed their day in court just like civilians? These are the types of socratic discussions our Eagles have in Civilization - and they LOVE it. They began studying the earliest hunter/gather nomads at the beginning of the year and we have now worked our way up to the Roman Empire.
