Session 5 Week 1 Year 5

Welcome back from Christmas break! Our new session is in full swing at HJA. Our heroes quickly got back into the flow of their routines and knocked the first week out of the park!

Quest

The quest for session five is called “Edison’s Lab” and is all about innovating with the use of electricity, magnetism, and more. Our heroes are having a blast experimenting with circuits, lights, fans, buzzers, batteries, and small motors. They are challenged with completing a hydroelectric water wheel to demonstrate at exhibition.

Art

In art, the learners explored Brazilian pop art and made their own interpretation of it. They drew pictures with shapes and patterns and painted their canvas with vibrant colors!

PE

During PE our heroes played 4 corners, Icicle of Doom, Sharks and Minnows, and then took turns leading yoga poses!

ES Comms

This session the ES heroes are writing gratitude letters to a person of their choice. They are learning what makes a powerful and meaningful letter of appreciation. This week they began by choosing the recipient of their letter, writing a gripping hook, and coming up with three reasons they are grateful for this person.

Fun Friday

On Fun Friday, the Little Heroes wore costumes and had a dance party, while the older heroes played video games and made crafts!
