Year 3, Session 2, Week 3
It's almost that time again! Session 2 is almost over and that means another Exhibition is upon us. All Eagles have been doing an amazing job this Session and are eager to share their work. The first week of this session all the Eagles did research on architecture. That gave them a better idea of who architects were and what cool things they did in their careers. Eagles quickly got inspired seeing cool buildings from around the world and the details that went into completing them. Not all of the Eagles were excited though. Seeing that week 2 was full of math and measuring using architecture scales fear of what was next began to sink in. These trepidations did not last long though; the Eagles young and old knocked their challenges out of the park!
Special thank you to Mr. Michael Buturla of Domain Architecture for being our guest speaker during this Session's quest. Mr. Buturla gave enormous insight to his life and career as an architect. He touched on his life now and leading up to choosing his calling giving the Eagles a very clear picture of his hero's journey. After checking out some of the Eagle's work from quest he expressed how impressed he was with their progress. He specifically pointed out their use of color and how detailed some of the blueprints were. Mr. Buturla also enjoyed the "challenging questions" from the Eagles who found out that his company built several structures they are familiar with. Which building nearby is Mr. Buturla going to be working on next?
Eagles are really eager to get those book badges! Bring on the books!
Seeing all the crafts and creations around the studio we think its safe to say its time to introduce Makers Space. During Makers Space the Eagles have the opportunity to exercise more of their creative energy with a ton of materials and tools. Stay tuned Eagles, it is on the way! Two claps and a woosh to the Little Eagles for showing amazing teamwork this week! It always feels good seeing Eagles collaborate in achieving excellence! Next Friday October 14th is Exhibition. Hope to see you there, but until then ENJOY YOUR FALL BREAK!
